"Ein Yeti zum Verlieben" (To Love a Yeti) U1CD 5002-2...
...Is a perfect combination of adventure and irony: with tongue in cheek
and lots of fun, Thorsten Schmidt tells the story of Tim, our nice-guy
zoologist, who is driven by his desire to find the indomitable living
Yeti for his zoo and to be acknowledged as a hero. Meanwhile his little
girl's yearning for a real family life and for Tim, who hasn't been able
to let go of his past, there's the start of a love story..
The zoo and a group of unscrupulous stockbrokers want to reap all the
venture profits of Tim's discovery when he actually does sight a Yeti.
And so begins a wild Yeti chase, with time running against them all as
the great snowman's body temperature starts to sink dramatically?
The fundamental task for composer Marcel Barsotti required emulating
an American orchestral layout without using a "real" orchestra. A case
of mission impossible perhaps? Thorsten Schmidt, impressed with Barsotti's
earlier compositions, was astounded with the results of this wide-ranging
score. Marcel blended intelligently and sensitively, adventure, romance
and magic.
Such a high quality arrangement impressed both HIFI fans, as well as
orchestral film music buffs. But judge for yourself?
The composer Marcel Barsotti studied composition and piano at the Munich
Conservatoire. During this time he worked with Harold Faltermeyer and
composed for numerous musical projects. Since 1995 he has composed many
classic themes for cinema and television movies, like "Sirga" (Luc Besson
production), "Gruene Wiese", "Dolphins", "Tor des Feuers" and "Eine Suende
zu Viel".
