Andreas Weiser - Daily Stories - U1CD 2025-2
"Daily Stories" are the stories of Andreas Weiser's daily happenings.
Sometimes softly recounted, like an intimate dream, sometimes shouted
out, like a painful memory. Elements emerging from the fields of radio
play, movies and music converge in these stories to assimilate Weiser's
everyday interactions and confrontations. Helped by his friends, soul
mates and casual acquaintances, some stories are candid shots, static
yet still moving like that of a great photograph. Others are edited regularly
like a movie to show the definitive moments in Weiser’s life. "Daily Stories"
takes you round the world in 80 minutes. The multiple pieces for this
puzzle come from universal directions, but together they generate a solid
snapshot of our earth, revolving undoubtedly as 'real' World Music.
"Daily Stories" is the first solo-CD release for Andreas Weiser and
represents the current high point of a unique career. One could say, finally
he has stepped out of the shadows as a percussionist for countless bands
and musicians, surprising us with his wealth of unusual themes. And talk
about an 'about turn', Martin Klingeberg is now playing trumpet for Andreas
Weiser, as is Volker Schlott, sax and Urna Chahar-Tugchi on vocals. However,
Weiser would not be credited as a percussionist if he did not create further
musical platforms for his contemporaries, the likes of the Brazilian Maghalaes
brothers and the US-American singer Twana Rhodes. He continues to keep
it fresh: the brother's sounds are created from western elements, Twana
Rhodes backing is typically Brazilian... Many things on this CD appear
to be the wrong way round: Sound effects are used like music, music like
sound effects. But if you listen with an open ear, you will experience
a new and special world that you won't easily forget. "Daily Stories"
is the astonishing soundtrack to the world of Andreas Weiser.
