Psychedelic Breaks (ex ChrisKriz) - "ALectric ANDALUS" - Demo
It is part of our label-philosophy is it to fuse musicians from (musically)
different worlds. The project Rahala encompasses each five musicians from
Egypt and Germany. In the studio Noujoum took a helping hand from musicians
of three different continents. The Munich-based Embryo and the Copenhagen-based
Oriental Mood often work with international musicians, mainly from the
Mediterranean Sea area. Sometimes, Haroun Rachid was seen together with Chris
Karrer performing on German stages.
At October 14th , 1999, four musicians from different project worked together
on stage at the "Drum'n'Tribe-Club" of SFB4 Multikulti in Berlin's club
"Oxymoron":
Krautrock-legend and multi-instrumentalist Chris Karrer (Amon Düül
II, Embryo...) met the producer and DJ Kriz Mental (Q-Connection, Skatalites...),
who is part of our "WorldRemixes"-project. At that concert, both musicians
were accompanied by the Jazz-bassplayer Horst Nonnenmacher (Oloye, Frigg...)
and the DJ Stanislas (Elektronauten, Steppaz Convention...).
Because all four musicians brought along thoroughly different
styles of music, we planned this concert as an experiment at first. Many
years of experience with projects like this one guaranteed that the concert
wouldn't end in chaos. After the concert, all concerned persons were surprised.
Psychedelic Breaks created an own mixture of Jazz-improvisations, Mediterranean
music, Drum'n'Bass-grooves, and ambient-soundpictures somewhere between
disco and concert-hall. That's why more concerts will follow, and - yet
not before autumn 2002 - a CD-production.
