Eutália de Carvalho & OLOYÉ -
"Notícias de uma viajante" - U1CD 2022-2
OLOYÉ is powerful rocking music with an Afro-Brazilian background. Jazz bass player Horst Nonnenmacher (Frigg, Association Urbanitique, Cathrin Pfeiffer) formed OLOYÈ to provide supply Brazilian singer EUTÁLIA DE CARVALHO with the musical power that her performances need. Brazilian rhythm, idiosyncratic songs and serious creativity make up the music of OLOYÉ. Guitarist Frank Schimmelpfennig and drummer Rainer Robben (also members of ASSOCIATION URBANITIQUE) contribute their own ideas, keyboard player Hein Schneider is a respected figure in musical theatre and percussionist Dietrich Kollöffel leads percussion group BORBOLETA. For this CD production, guest musicians also helped out, including Canadian drummer Walter McLean. Jürgen Heckel lent a hand on the mix, and did an alternative mix of the band's title song 'Oloyé'... OLOYÉ was founded in 1990, and since then have performed regularly in Berlin and Germany. Now is the time for their first CD, a very personal album with Portuguese lyrics from singer EUTÀLIA DE CARVALHO and compositions by Horst Nonnenmacher. The cultures of Brazil and western Europe meet in a relaxed (and relaxing) way - the songs are like diary notes, about life both in Brazil and from all over the world. Brazilian rock music made in Berlin. Internet: www.oloye.de |
