Kirit - In Tone - U1CD-2014-2
First, KIRIT terrorized the concert halls all over the world as "Musical
Catering Service." And now, they're on their way to materializing and setting
"In Tone," which qualifies them as repeat offenders. It wasn't long ago that
they separated their friends from their money by placing a CD in reach. What
once worked will surely work again. So, the three musicians decided to record
their concerts. And, with only a little power of persuasion, they convinced
a small label called united One.records of the product's quality. The result
of this you may already hold in your hands, or perhaps it is already playing
on some nearby stereo This CD collaboration emerged from a
post-Coltrane-improvisation scheme. The three musicians of Kirit move in
a wide musical sphere which includes contemporary jazz as well as urban folk.
It ranges from "Than Go" to "Bossa Nostra," from "Interbop" to "Ech No,"
So: "Vorsicht bei der Abfahrt!" (Careful at take-off!) This music shoots
both ways - from head to toe and back again. In the Berlin clubs, this is
an old well known fact. And, by the by, word has spread. Kirit's been composing
soundtracks for film (e.g. "Home Run" by R. Weckwerth), theatre (e.g.
"Hieroglyphos" by S. Oyarzabal), multimedia-events ("Im Bauch des Wals" with
Micky Remann, T. McKenna a.o.) and underwater-shows (for the LIQUID SOUND
SYSTEM in Bad Sulza). Meanwhile, "Musical Catering Service" is still getting
gigs, but has a new employee for the live line-up: Michael Wehmeyer (keyb,
perc), who played with Embryo, Dissidenten, and Rahala. In 1998, the first
CD was released of special music for Liquid Sound System (Sea You 1), played
by Kirit. In connection with this success, the Kirit musicians took over
the direction for the Liquid Sound-Label and plans are underway with a bunch
of guest musicians for the inauguration of the new Liquid Sound Baths in
Bad Sulza (Thüringen) in June 1999.
