Phé Cullen - U1CD 3020-2
"Phe Cullen's smooth mezzo is poured all over this collection of covers,
and the result is a thoroughly enjoyable mass of romantic music that practically
drips with ambiance."
Phe
Cullen spent ten years in Britain and saw her career, as a vocalist, range
from fronting a SKA band, to Glam Rock, to Heavy Rock, until her return
to Canada. Phe pairing up with Norm Amadio, one of Canada's most accomplished
pianists (Judy Garland, Chet Baker, Moe Koffman, Tommy Ambrose), took
on the challenge of "Jazz" singing. The result is an eclectic album consisting
of some of Phe's favorite classic rock songs from the "70's. Coupled with
the brilliant style of Norm Amadio... an original sound is born!! We like
to call it "Classic Rock Jazz". A sophisticated sound with lush strings,
slick arrangements, and superb performances by all involved.
