Ayo Nelson-Homiah - "hull buyh dorr - Heartbeat" - CD GAM 001 Ayo Nelson-Homiah was born in Sierra Leone and raised in Gambia. He discovered his deeply rooted addiction to music early, playing drums that he built himself from empty boxes and tins. He joined the British Royal Air Force and came with those to Berlin in 1994. He is a civil person now and is living in Berlin with his family. There, he has learned as a member of groups like Africa MMa and Senegambigha to combine different musically cultures. This music, often called "African Gospel", comes from an old African tradition. The songs invite the audience to think about friendship between all peoples and cultures, and urge them to sing, dance and to free oneselves from the sorrows of everyday life. Ayo Nelson-Homiah tries to deliver this very message with his music. He always attempts to involve the audience in his performance creating an atmosphere of spontaneity and joyfullness like in a village in Africa. Intenet: www.gamton.de
